La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec launches today its Guide to Best Practices in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I), presented by Beenox. Available free of charge to its members, this tool aims to support video game companies in integrating DE&I principles into their internal activities and processes.
As part of La Guilde’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan, this guide has been designed and adapted to the specific reality of our industry. This multidisciplinary tool is the result of a collaborative effort between several organizations specializing in the development of inclusive workplaces, namely Élance, Aparté, Institut EDI2 and RIQEDI. Divided into four sections, it defines and demystifies the concepts associated with DE&I, while proposing hands-on examples for employers. The Guide also includes sample policies, job postings and case studies, as well as a list of external resources to further equip studios.
Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) are essential values for the development and growth of the video game industry in Quebec.
Everyone in our industry deserves to be heard, included and treated fairly, and to evolve in a work environment that enables them to reach their full potential. That’s why Beenox is proud to partner with La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec to present this DE&I practice guide, which aims to provide studios across Quebec with actual tools to promote diversity of talent and perspectives.
This guide represents one of many tools to enable Quebec studios to join in the collective effort to shape a video game industry in Quebec that shines not only in creative excellence, but also in its ability to celebrate and integrate the diverse voices that make it up.
“La Guilde is delighted to offer this tool, which highlights recognized practices that promote inclusive workspaces. This guide contributes to the continuous improvement of our industry by responding concretely to the needs of our members. We would like to thank our partner Beenox, as well as all our collaborators who participated in the realization of this project,” says Béatrice Desjardins-Gagnon, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisor, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec.
“Beenox is proud to partner with La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec to present this DEI practice guide, which aims to provide applied tools to promote diversity of talent and perspectives in our ecosystem,” adds Nour Polloni, Studio Director, Beenox.
The Best Practices Guide will be accompanied in the coming months by a series of practical workshops, set up in collaboration with Beenox.
